Մեծ Բրիտանիայի Պաշտպանական գիտության և տեխնիկայի լաբորատորիայի (Dstl) թեստերի արդյունքների համաձայն՝ միջատներին վանող միջոցներում պարունակվող ցիտրիդիոլը ոչնչացրել է նոր տեսակի կորոնավիրուսի շտամները: Գիտնականները նշել են, որ ցիտրիդիոլը չի փրկում COVID-19-ից, բայց կարող է օգտագործվել որպես լրացուցիչ պաշտպանական միջոց:
