К Земле приближается астероид размером с три футбольных поля

Потенциально опасный астероид 2004 UE размером от 170 до 380 метров в диаметре пролетит близ Земли в середине ноября, говорится на сайте одного из подразделений НАСА.

На минимальное расстояние астероид приблизится к Земле 13 ноября. По оценкам американского агентства, астероид пролетит от нашей планеты более чем в 4 миллионах километров, что превышает 11 дистанций от Земли до Луны, передает РИА Новости.

Астероид 2004 UE входит в группу «Аполлонов», потенциально опасных астероидов, чьи траектории полета пересекаются с орбитой Земли. Первое наблюдение астероида датировано 2004 годом. В следующий раз астероид сблизится с Землей в 2051 году.
