Коронавирусная инфекция COVID-19 может привести к развитию синдрома Гийена — Барре, как выяснили ученые из Бирмингемского университета.

Как сообщает портал EurekAlert!, антитела, вырабатываемые в организме человека, который переболел коронавирусной инфекцией, схожи с антителами, вызывающими болезни сердца и кожи.

Первые симптомы заболевания – мышечная слабость и боли, онемение кистей рук и ступней, а также проблемы с координацией.

Синдром Гийена — Барре — это аутоиммунная полирадикулоневропатия, которая проявляется вегетативными расстройствами и нарушениями чувствительности.
