Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի և Սերժ Սարգսյանի մոտեցումների միջև միշտ էլ տարակարծություններ եղել են: Այս մասին ՀՀԿ գրասենյակում տեղի ունեցած մամուլի ասուլիսում հայտարարել է ՀՀԿ փոխնախագահ Արմեն Աշոտյանը։

Ըստ նրա, այդ տարբերությունները եղել են դեռեւս 2000-ականներին, երբ Քոչարյանը ՀՀ նախագահ էր, իսկ Սարգսյանը այլ պաշտոններ էր զբաղեցնում:

«Բայց ոչ մի տարաձայնություն սկզբունքային չի եղել ռազմավարական նպատակներին հասնելու հարցում: Հետևաբար, անշնորհակալ գործ եմ համարում Քոչարյան-Սարգսյան զույգի մեջ մտնելը»,- ընդգծել է Աշոտյանը:
