Վիրուսաբան, Ռուսաստանի գիտությունների ակադեմիայի ակադեմիկոս Իոսիֆ Աթաբեկովին մահացած են գտել Մոսկվայի իր բնակարանում։ Տեղեկությունը հայտնում է РЕН ТВ-ն։

Մարմնի վրա բռնության հետքեր չեն հայտնաբերվել։ Աթաբեկովը մահացել է 87 տարեկանում։

Իոսիֆ Աթաբեկովը Ռուսաստանում տրանսգեն բույսերի առաջին արտոնագրի հեղինակն է: Նա ղեկավարել է Մոսկվայի Մ. Վ. Լոմոնոսովի անվան պետական համալսարանի վիրուսաբանության ամբիոնը։ Իոսիֆ Աթաբեկովը իր գյուտերի համար ստացել է 35 հեղինակային վկայականներ և արտոնագրեր։
