Սրտանոթային հիվանդություններից եւ/կամ քաղցկեղից մահվան ռիսկը նվազում է մոտ 25%-ով՝ պարբերաբար չիլի պղպեղ օգտագործելու դեպքում: Այս մասին հայտնում են Ամերիկյան սրտաբանական ասոցիացիայի մասնագետները:

Ինչպես պատմում է Express-ը, մասնագետներն ուսումնասիրել են ավելի քան 570 000 մարդու առողջության վերաբերյալ տվյալները եւ եկել են այն եզրակացության, որ իրենց սննդակարգում այս մթերքը ներառած պացիենտների մոտ սրտանոթային հիվանդություններից մահվան ռիսկը նվազել է 26%-ով, քաղցկեղից՝ 23%-ով:

Գիտնականների խոսքերով՝ չիլի պղպեղի այս հատկությունները բացատրվում են նրանով, որ դա պարունակում է կապսաիցին, որն ունի հակաբորբոքային, հակաօքսիդիչ եւ հակաքաղցկեղային հատկություններ: Բացի այդ, այն կարող է կարգավորել արյան մեջ գլյուկոզայի մակարդակը:
