Վանդերբիլտի համալսարանի եւ Տեխասի համալսարանի բժշկական բաժանմունքի գիտնականները գտել են կորոնավիրուսի թույլ տեղը, հայտնում է MedicalXpress-ը:

Հետազոտության ժամանակ, որը հրապարակվել է PLOS Pathogens ամսագրում, գիտնականները կորոնավիրուսի գենոմի մոտ հատուկ ֆերմենտ են գտել, որը հայտնի է որպես nsp14-ExoN էկզոռիբոնուկլեազա: Այս ֆերմենտը պատասխանատու է վիրուսի էվոլյուցիայի համար, եւ հենց նա կարող է դառնալ կարեւոր թիրախ կորոնավիրուսը ճնշելու եւ COVID-19 համավարակի դեմ պայքարելու համար, ինչպես նաեւ նոր կորոնավիրուսների ապագա բռնկումները կանխելու համար, նշել է հետազոտության հեղինակներից Ջենիֆեր Գրիբլը:

Գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ հայտնաբերված ֆերմենտը կարելի է համարել կորոնավիրուսի «աքիլլեսյան գարշապարը»: Այն կարող է կորցնել վերազուգակցության հնարավորությունը եւ իր գործունեությունն ամբողջությամբ դադարեցնել այն դեպքում, եթե հնարավոր լինի մշակել ֆերմենտի ազդեցությունն արգելափակող դեղ:
