Ատամների գույնի վրա ամենամեծ ազդեցությունն ունեն ամինաթթուներով և գունանյութերով մթերքները: Դրանք թվարկել է Բորովսկու անվան համալսարանի Ատամնաբուժական ինստիտուտի տնօրեն Իրինա Մակեևան: Այս մասին գրել է «Москва» գործակալությունը:

Մակեևայի համաձայն՝ խոսքը գնում է հապալասի, սև հաղարջի, մարինացված բազուկի, բալի, բալի հյութի, կարմիր գինու, ինչպես նաև ներկված գազավորված ըմպելիքների, շատ համեմունքների և սոուսների մասին:

Ատամնաբույժը նշել է, որ ատամների գույնը կարող է փոխվել թեյի և սուրճի մշտական օգտագործման պատճառով: Թեյն ավելի ուժեղ է ներկում ատամները: Մասնագետը նշել է, որ այդ ըմպելիքներից յուրաքանչյուրի օգտագործումից հետո պետք է ողողել բերանը կամ հատուկ ատամի փրփուր կիրառել:
