ՀՀ ԱԳՆ մամուլի խոսնակը մեկնաբանել է Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևի՝ «BBC» գործակալությանը տված հարցազրույցում արված հայտարարությունները։ Մեկնաբանությունը՝ ստորև․

«Սույն հարցազրույցում Իլհամ Ալիևը հաստատում է, որ չունի որևէ արդարացում Ստեփանակերտի և Արցախի այլ խաղաղ բնակավայրերի քաղաքացիական բնակչության և քաղաքացիական ենթակառուցվածքների դիտավորյալ թիրախավորման առնչությամբ, որն անհերքելի փաստերով արձանագրվել է բազմաթիվ հեղինակավոր միջազգային ԶԼՄ-ների և մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանությամբ մասնագիտացված կազմակերպությունների կողմից։

Հասկանալով, որ վաղ թե ուշ կրելու է իր կողմից իրականացված պատերազմական հանցագործությունների պատասխանատվությունը, Իլհամ Ալիևը հուսահատ փորձ է անում ժխտել իրականությունը՝ այն անվանելով «կեղծ լուրեր»:

Իլհամ Ալիևի մարդատյաց այս հայտարարությունը, որն արվում է իր հրամանով գործող զինված ուժերի կողմից Արցախի քաղաքացիական ենթակառուցվածքների շարունակական թիրախավորման ֆոնին, ևս մեկ անգամ փաստում է, որ Արցախի ժողովուրդը որևէ հանգամանքում չի կարող լինել Ադրբեջանի իրավասության ներքո»։
