Ադրբեջանի Պաշտպանության նախարարությունը խոստովանել է, որ Ադրբեջանի զինված ուժերը չորեքշաբթի օրը հարվածներ են հասցրել Հայաստանի տարածքում ռազմական տեխնիկային: Ադրբեջանի պաշտպանության նախարարության հայտարարության մեջ նշվում է, որ հոկտեմբերի 14-ին՝ տեղական ժամանակով ժամը 08: 36-ին, ադրբեջանական զինուժը Հայաստանի սահմանային տարածքում ՝ Քելբաջարի շրջանի մոտակայքում, գրանցել է բալիստիկ հրթիռներով օպերատիվ-մարտավարական գործողություն։ «Հրթիռային համակարգն ուղղված էր Գյանջայի, Մինգաչևիրի և այլ քաղաքների բնակչությանն ու քաղաքացիական ենթակառուցվածքներին», - ասված է հայտարարության մեջ: Հաղորդվում է, որ համալիրը «ավերվել է կանխարգելիչ հարվածի արդյունքում՝ խաղաղ բնակչության անվտանգությունն ապահովելու համար»: Ընդգծվում է, որ հրթիռային համալիրի գտնվելու վայրում քաղաքացիական օբյեկտներ չեն եղել:
