Վրաստանի նախկին նախագահ Միխեիլ Սահակաշվիլին ծեծի է ենթարկվել Աթենքում, որտեղ նա ժամանել էր հանդիպելու վրացի էմիգրանտ ընտրողների հետ՝ հոկտեմբերի երեսունմեկին Վրաստանում կայանալիք պառլամենտական ընտրությունների նախընտրական քարոզարշավի շրջանակներում։ Այս մասին հայտնում է ռուսական «ВЗГЛЯД»-ը, վկայակոչելով տեղի մամուլի հրապարակումներին։

Սահակաշվիլին իր երկրպագու կանանց հետ գնալիս է եղել կինոթատրոն, երբ մի տղա է մոտեցել ու հարվածել նրա գլխին։ Սկսվել է խուճապ։ Դեպքի վայր է ժամանել հունական իրավապահների հատուկ ջոկատը։ Ավելի վաղ, Սահակաշվիլին հայտարարել էր, որ Եվրոպայում ապրող վրացի քրեական տարրերը իր դեմ գործողություններ իրականացնելու պատվեր են ստացել վրացական իշխանություններից, մասնավորապես՝ Թբիլիսիի քաղաքապետ Կախա Կալաձեից։
