ոկտեմբերի 6-ին Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության արտաքին գործերի նախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովը հեռախոսազրույց է ունեցել Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մ.Դ. Զարիֆի հետ:

Մոսկվան և Թեհրանն իրենց լուրջ մտահոգությունն են հայտնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության գոտում իրավիճակի աննախադեպ սրման կապակցությամբ:Ընդգծվել է հակամարտության գոտում Սիրիայից և Լիբիայից  անօրինական զինված խմբավորումների ծայրահեղական ահաբեկիչների ներգրավման վտանգավորությունը։ Նշվել է, որ դիվանագիտական ​​կարգավորումը այլընտրանք չունի, որի սկիզբը պետք է լինի հրադադարը ՝ առանց նախապայմանների:

Սերգեյ Լավրովը մատնանշել է Ռուսաստանի ինտենսիվ ջանքերը ինչպես իր ազգային կարողության, այնպես էլ ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահների «եռյակի» շրջանակներում տարածաշրջանում հնարավորինս շուտ խաղաղություն հաստատելու համար: Նախարարները կրկին շեշտել են կարևոր դերը, որ կարող են ունենալ Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի հարևան երկրները:
