Արցախի նախագահ Արայիկ Հարությունյանի հրամանագրով Դավիթ Վանիկի Ղազարյանն արժանացել է «Արցախի հերոս» բարձրագույն կոչման:

Ցավոք Ղազարյանն այս կոչումը ստանում է հետմահու. «Նա մարտը վարել է «ոչ մի քայլ հետ» սկզբունքով: Նա իրական հերոսություն է կատարել: Ցավակցում եմ բոլորիս, սակայն նաև հպարտ եմ, որ ունենք Դավիթի նման շատ հայրենակիցներ»:

Նախագահը նշեց, որ իր ու պետության կողմից շարունակվելու են հերոսությունների գնահատման աշխատանքները, պատրտականությունները. «Փառք բոլորին, բոլորն էլ հերոսներ են»:
