Ամերիկացի և բրիտանացի գիտնականները պարզել են նոր կորոնավիրուսի մի քանի մուտացիաներ, որոնցից մեկը կարող է վարակը ավելի դիմացկուն ու կայուն դարձնել: Այս մասին ասված է biorxiv պորտալում հրապարակված հոդվածում: Հետազոտողները հատուկ ուշադրություն են դարձրել Spike D614G մուտացիային, որը տարածված է Եվրոպայում: Այն առաջին անգամ հայտնաբերվել է Գերմանիայում: Ըստ այդ տեսության՝ այս մուտացիան ազդում է մարդու իիմունային համակարգի վրա։ Մասնագետները այս տեսությունով են առաջնորդվում պատվաստանյութերի մշակման ժամանակ: Համարվում է, որ D614G- ը հիվանդներին խոցելի է դարձնում նոր վարակի դեմ:
Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության տվյալներով՝ աշխարհում գրանցվել է SARS-CoV-2 կորոնավիրուսային վարակի առնվազն 3,5 միլիոն դեպք, մահացել է ավելի քան 243 հազար մարդ:
