«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է․ «ՀՀ քննչական կոմիտեում հունվարի 17-ին չի կայացել նախապես պլանավորված հանդիպումը: Բանն այն է, որ այդ օրն իր բնարակարանում, ըստ նախնական վարկածի, ինքնասպան էր եղել ԱԱԾ նախկին տնօրեն Գեւորգի Կուտոյանը: Իսկ ի՞նչ հանդիպման մասին է խոսքը: Թերթը գրել էր, որ ՀՀ քննչական կոմիտեում հրավիրվելու է խորհրդակցություն մի շարք գործարարների ահազանգի առիթով:

ՀՀ քննչական կոմիտեի նախագահ Հայկ Գրիգորյանը հունվարի 9-ին դիմել էր ՀՀ գլխավոր դատախազ Արթուր Դավթյանին, մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպան Արման Թաթոյանին, ԱԺ պատգամավոր Հարություն Բաբայանին (որը ահազանգի հեղինակն է), ՀՀ ոստիկանապետի ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատար Արմեն Սարգսյանին, որպեսզի խնդրին համատեղ լուծում տան:

ԱԺ պատգամավոր Հարություն Բաբայանը «թերթին ասել էր, որ եվրոպական երկրներից դեպորտ արված շատ հայեր՝ որպես պրոֆեսիոնալներ, իրենց համար, չակերտավոր ասած, նոր մասնագիտություն են գտել. մտնում են առեւտրի կենտրոններ եւ տարբեր խանութներից գողություն են անում: Իսկ երբ բռնվում են, սպասում են՝ 72 ժամը լրանա, դուրս են գալիս՝ ցուցմունք տալուց հրաժարվելով»:
