Այսօր` օգոստոսի 18-ին, Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին նշում է Խաղողօրհնեքը` Սբ. Մարիամ Աստվածածնի Վերափոխման տոնը: Այն Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու 5 տաղավար տոներից 4-րդն է։

Տոնի առթիվ այսօր եկեղեցիներում կմատուցվի պատարագ, որից հետո խաղողը կօրհնվի։

Ըստ ավանդության՝ Քրիստոսի համբարձումից որոշ ժամանակ անց Գաբրիել հրեշտակն այցելել է Աստվածածնին և հաղորդել, որ շուտով նա վերստին կհանդիպի իր Որդուն։ Սուրբ Մարիամը բարձրացել է Ձիթենյաց լեռը, որտեղից համբարձվել էր Որդին, աղոթել է, ապա կանչել բարեկամներին և հրաժեշտ տվել։ Այդ գիշեր նրա հոգին բաժանվել է մարմնից։

Նշենք, որ Աստվածածնի վերափոխման տոնին հաջորդող օրը մարդիկ անմահության ավետիսը տանում են ննջեցյալների շիրիմներին։
