Դեռևս 5-10 տարի առաջ տարածված չէր բոդիպոզիտիվի գաղափարը։ Այդ ժամանակ աղջիկները, կանայք և նույնիսկ տղամարդիկ ավելի շատ էին իրենց համեմատում ստանդարտ մոդելների հետ և բարդույթավորվում էին, երբ նման չէին լինում հասարակության կողմից ընդունված իդեալներին։ Հիմա դրական միտում է նկատվում. մարդիկ սկսում են սիրել իրենք իրենց՝ իրենց առանձնահատկությունների համար և չեն բարդույթավորվում։

Նույնիսկ այնքան անուշիկ առանձնահատկությունը, ինչպիսին պեպեններն են, ակնհայտորեն ստիպել էր Մալուին բարդույթավորվել։

Մի որոշ ժամանակ նա թաքցնում էր իր պեպենները շպարի հաստ շերտի տակ կամ ֆոտոշոփ էր օգտագործում, ինչից նրա լուսանկարները Instagram-ում կատարյալ վարդագույն երանգի էին ստացվում։
