ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանը hունիսի 7-ին ընդունել է ամերիկյան Ատլանտյան Խորհրդի պատվավոր նախագահ, պաշտոնաթող գեներալ Ջեյմս Ջոնսին:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարը Ջեյմս Ջոնսին ներկայացրել է տարածաշրջանում անվտանգային իրավիճակը, հայ-ադրբեջանական պետական սահմանին և արցախա-ադրբեջանական ուժերի շփման գծում տիրող իրադրությունը, անդրադարձել պաշտպանության ոլորտում հայ-ամերիկյան և ՀՀ-ՆԱՏՕ համագործակցությանը:

Զրուցակիցները մտքեր են փոխանակել նաև միջազգային ու տարածաշրջանային անվտանգությանն առնչվող մի շարք հարցերի վերաբերյալ:

Գեներալ Ջեյմս Ջոնսը 1999-2003թթ. զբաղեցրել է ԱՄՆ ծովային հետևակի հրամանատարի, 2003-2006թթ.՝ Եվրոպայում ՆԱՏՕ-ի ուժերի գերագույն հրամանատարի, 2009-2010թթ.՝ ԱՄՆ նախագահի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդականի պաշտոնները:
