Մշակութային բազմազանության օր հանուն երկխոսության եւ զարգացման

2003 թվականի մայիսի 21-ից նշվում է Մշակութային բազմազանության օրը հանուն երկխոսության եւ զարգացման։

2001 թվականին ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ-ն ընդունել է Համընդհանուր հռչակագիր մշակութային բազմազանության մասին, իսկ 2002-ի դեկտեմբերին ՄԱԿ Գլխավոր ասամբլեան իր 57/249 բանաձեւով  մայիսի 21-ը հռչակել է Մշակութային բազմազանության օր հանուն երկխոսության եւ զարգացման։

Այդ նույն փաստաթղթում ՄԱԿ-ն առաջարկել է բոլոր անդամ պետություններին, միջկառավարական մարմիններին, Միավորված Ազգերի Կազմակերպության համակարգի կազմակերպություններին եւ համապատասխան հասարակական կազմակերպություններին, հասարակությանը տեղեկացնել մշակույթների արժեքավորության եւ բազմազանության կարեւորության մասին եւ, մասնավորապես,  լուսավորության եւ զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցների օգնությամբ աջակցել   մակութային բազմազանության դրական դերի գիտակցմանը։
