Ամերիկացի ֆիզիկոս Բերնարդ Ֆելդմանը գտել է առնետների մոտ քաղցկեղի առաջացման հնարավոր պատճառը, որը բջջային հեռախոսների երկարատեւ ճառագայթման հետեւանք է: Հետազոտությունը հրապարակվել է arXiv.org կայքում:

Ըստ Ֆելդմանի՝ փորձը կարող է հետեւյալ բացատրությունն ունենալ: Առնետների գլխուղեղի եւ սրտի մոտակայքում գտնվող նեյրոնները ձեւավորում են փակ էլեկտրական շղթաներ, եւ Ֆարադեյի օրենքի համաձայն՝ 900 մեգահերց հաճախականությամբ ռադիոճառագայթումը դրանցում նույն հաճախականությամբ էլեկտրական հոսանք է ուղղում, որին իր հերթին հանգեցնում է հյուսվածքների լոկալ տաքացման եւ քաղցկեղածին ռադիկալների բալանսի փոփոխության՝ դրանով բարձրացնելով քաղցկեղի առաջացման հնարավորությունը:
