Թինա Դատան ծնվել է 1986 թվականի նոյեմբերի 27-ին Հնդկաստանի Կալկաթա քաղաքում:Հինգ տարեկան հասակում Թինա Դատան նկարահանվել է հեռուստատեսային սերիալում, որը կոչվում էր «Քույր Նիվեդիտա»: 1992 թվականից սկսել է նկարահանվել ֆիլմերում:

Նկարահանվել է բենգալական բազմաթիվ ֆիլմերում: 2003-2005 թվականներին ունեցել է դերասանական բեղուն գործունեություն:

2005 թվականին նա նկարահանվել է հինդի լեզվով ֆիլմում, որի ժամանակ մարմնավորել է փոքրիկ Լոլիտային:

Թինա Դատան համարվում է Մումբայում նկարահանված «Մերժվածը» հեռուստասերիալի գլխավոր կերպարը: Այնտեղ նա մարմնավորել է Իչա Վիր Սինգ Բունդելա թակուրայինին, ով հաղթահարելով կյանքի դժվարություններին կարողանում է իրականացնել իր բոլոր նպատակները:
