Գայի պողոտայում գտնվող դեղատներից մեկում տարեց ամուսինները մտել են դեղ գնելու։ Դեղի գնի շուրջ անհարկի աղմուկ են բարձրացրել ու շեղել դեղատան աշխատակցի ուշադրությունը՝ վերադարձված մանրից 10 հազար դրամ հափշտակելով։ Գողությունը հայտնի է «փող ջարդել» անվամբ, որը տարածված է եղել տարիներ առաջ։

Կատարվածի մասին ոստիկանության Նոր Նորքի բաժնի քրեական հետախույզները տեղեկացել են դեպքից որոշ ժամանակ անց, քանի որ դեղատան աշխատակիցներն էլ էին հետո հասկացել, որ տղամարդը գումար է հափշտակել։ Ամուսինները նույն սցենարով էլի էին փորձել հափշտակություն կատարել դարձյալ Նոր Նորքում գտնվող դեղատներից մեկում, այս դեպքում դեղատան աշխատակիցն ուշադիր էր եղել։

Ոստիկանները պարզել են տղամարդու ինքնությունը եւ հայտնաբերել Օրբելի–Կիեւյան փողոցների խաչմերուկում։ Նրան գողության եւ գողության փորձ կատարելու կասկածանքով բերման են ենթարկվել ոստիկանության Նոր Նորքի բաժին։ Բերման ենթարկվելուց հետո Երեւանի բնակիչ 76-ամյա Լյուրիս Հակոբյանին քրեական հետախույզները ներկայացրել են Ավան եւ Նոր Նորք քննչական բաժին։ Հարուցվել է քրեական գործ, դեպքի հանգամանքները պարզվում են։
