«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է. «Չի բացառվում, որ ՀՀ տնտեսական զարգացման եւ ներդրումների նախարարի գլխավոր խորհրդական Պավել Սաֆարյանը կրկին վերադառնա իր հին պաշտոնին՝ դառնալով ՀՀ ֆինանսների առաջին փոխնախարար:

Ի վերջո, Սահարյանը համարվում է եզակի պրոֆեսիոնալ կադրերից մեկը, ում «ձեռքի տակով» են ացնել նորանկախ Հայաստանի վերջին 20 տարիների պետական բյուջեները:

Սակայն նախկին վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանը իր կառավարությունը ձեւավորելիս Սաֆարյանին աշխատանքից ազատեց:

«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի հարցին՝ կտեսնենք արդյոք ֆինանսների առաջին փոխնախարարի պաշտոնում, Պ. Սաֆարյանը դժվարացավ պատասխանել՝ նշելով. «Այս ընթացքում նման քննարկում տեղի չի ունեցել»:
