Կյանքի 77-րդ տարում վախճանվել է արձակագիր, կինոդրամատուրգ Ալեքսան Մեխակյանը: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրել են Հայաստանի Գրողների Միության վարչությունից:

Ալեքսան Մեխակյանն ավարտել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանի բանասիրական ֆակուլտետի ժուռնալիստիկայի բաժինը, ապա՝ Մոսկվայի սցենարիստների և ռեժիսորների բարձրագույն դասընթացները։ Հեղինակել է մի շարք դրամաներ, սցենարներ՝ գեղարվեստական և դոկումենտալ ֆիլմերի համար։ Կատարել է նաև մի շարք գրքերի թարգմանություններ:

Մասնավորապես, նա հեղինակ է «Երազախաբ ավետարան», «Փոքրիկ սրնգահարի ոդիսականը», «Ապաստան» վեպերի: Թարգմանել է Ֆեոդոր Դոստոևսկու, Լաքսնես Հալդորի ստեղծագործություններից:

Արժանացել է «Տարվա լավագույն արձակ» մրցանակի:
