ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը դեռ պատրաստ չէ աջակցել ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի պաշտոնի թեկնածուներից որևէ մեկին։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Politico-ն՝ հղում անելով ԱՄՆ կառավարության աղբյուրներին։

Լրատվամիջոցի տվյալներով՝ Սպիտակ տունը ցանկանում է, որ կազմակերպությունը ղեկավարի մեկը, որը պատրաստ կլինի արմատական բարեփոխումներ իրականացնել։

Վաշինգտոնի դիրքորոշումը կարևոր նշանակություն ունի, քանի որ ԱՄՆ-ը՝ որպես ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի մշտական անդամ, կարող է վետո դնել ցանկացած թեկնածուի վրա։ Թեկնածուն պետք է ստանա Անվտանգության խորհրդի 15 անդամից առնվազն ինը ձայն և չարժանանա մշտական անդամներից որևէ մեկի վետոյին։

Ոչ պաշտոնական քվեարկություններում առաջատարը շարունակում է մնալ Կոստա Ռիկայի նախկին փոխնախագահ Ռեբեկա Գրինսպանը։ Հոկտեմբերի 7-ի վերջին քվեարկության ժամանակ նրան աջակցել է Անվտանգության խորհրդի ինը անդամ, իսկ վեցը դեմ են արտահայտվել։ Հայտնի չէ՝ արդյոք դեմ քվեարկածների թվում եղել են ԱՄՆ-ը կամ վետոյի իրավունք ունեցող այլ երկրներ։

Ավելի վաղ Թրամփի շրջապատում որպես հնարավոր թեկնածու հիշատակվել էր ՖԻՖԱ-ի նախագահ Ջանի Ինֆանտինոն, սակայն նրա թեկնածությունը պաշտոնապես չի առաջադրվել։

Հաջորդ ոչ պաշտոնական քվեարկությունը նախատեսված է հոկտեմբերի 16-ին։ ՄԱԿ-ի գործող գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիու Գուտերեշը պաշտոնը կլքի դեկտեմբերի 31-ին, իսկ նրա իրավահաջորդը պետք է ստանձնի պարտականությունները 2027 թվականի հունվարի 1-ին։
