Արգենտինայի կենտրոնական և հյուսիսային շրջաններում ամառվա կեսին առատ ձյուն է տեղում, որոշ վայրերում ձյան հաստությունը կազմում է կես մետր:

Ինչպես հայտնում է El País-ը, ուրբաթ օրվանից սկսած ձյան տեղումներն ամենաշատն են վերջին 22 տարում: Մի շարք զբոսաշրջային քաղաքներ ամբողջությամբ պատված են ձյան շերտով: Բարիլոչե քաղաքում ձյան շերտի հաստությունը հասնում է 50 սմ-ի:

Ցուրտ ջերմաստիճանային պայմանների պատճառով երկու մարդ է զոհվել: Նրանցից մեկը Մար դել Պլատա առողջարանային քաղաքի 54-ամյա բնակիչն է, մյուսը Սանտա Ֆեի 41-ամյա բնակիչը: Երկուսն էլ մահացել են հիպոթերմիայից (թերջերմություն):

Ինչպես հաղորդվում է, ամենից շատ ցուրտը զգացվում է Բարիլոչե քաղաքում, որտեղ օդի ջերմաստիճանը -25,4 աստիճան է ըստ Ցելսիուսի: Մյուս քաղաքներում մինչև 7 աստիճան ցուրտ է գրանցվել:
