Իրանի ներկայացուցիչները պլանավորում են հակամարտությունը լուծելու համար Նյու Յորքում բանակցություններ վարել միջնորդների, այլ ոչ թե ամերիկյան կողմի հետ, հաղորդում է Tasnim-ը՝ հղում անելով իրանական աղբյուրին։

«Արտաքին գործերի նախարար Աբբաս Արաղչին և նրա պատվիրակությունը կհանդիպեն միջնորդների հետ՝ իրավիճակի զարգացման վերաբերյալ կարծիքներ փոխանակելու համար։ ԱՄՆ-ի հետ բանակցություններ վարելու ծրագրեր չկան», – հաղորդել է գործակալությունը՝ առանց նշելու, թե կոնկրետ ում հետ են կայանալու բանակցությունները։

Ավելի վաղ Արաղչին հայտարարել էր, որ Իրանի իշխանությունները ամերիկյան կողմին ծրագիր են ներկայացրել Հորմուզի նեղուցը բացելու համար։ Սակայն ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտարարել է, որ մերժել է իրանական առաջարկը։
