Մենք այժմ Իսրայելի հետ նոր բանակցություններ չենք վարում։ Այս մասին հայտարարել է Լիբանանի նախագահ Ջոզեֆ Աունը, ով այցելել է երկրի հարավում գտնվող Նաբաթիա քաղաք և հանդիպել տեղի հանրության հետ, հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։

«Մենք այժմ Իսրայելի հետ նոր բանակցություններ չենք վարում և պահանջում ենք նրա զորքերի դուրսբերումը, գերիների և տեղահանված անձանց վերադարձը։ Մեր պետությունն այս պահին աշխատում է ավերված քաղաքների վերականգնման ուղղությամբ, և իմ այցը Նաբաթիա վկայում է քաղաքացիների առջև իրենց պարտավորությունները կատարելու իշխանությունների հաստատակամ մտադրության մասին»,- նշել է նա։

Հիշեցնենք, որ ավելի վաղ հայտարարվել էր, որ սեպտեմբերի 15-16-ին Հռոմում ԱՄՆ հովանուներքո նախատեսված Լիբանանի և Իսրայելի միջև բանակցությունների ութերորդ փուլը հետաձգվել է մինչև հոկտեմբեր։ Ամերիկյան աղբյուրները հայտնել են, որ նման որոշման պատճառ է դարձել կողմերի նախապատրաստումը այլ միջոցառումների, այդ թվույմ՝ ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի բարձր մակարդակի շաբաթվան։
