ԱՄՆ-ն կոչնչացնի Իրանի նավթային տանկերները, եթե այդ երկիրը շարունակի հարվածել ամերիկյան նավերին ։Այս մասին ԱՄՆ պատերազմի նախարար Փիթ Հեգսեթը գրել է X-ի իր միկրոբլոգում։

«Ամեն ինչ պարզ է։ Եթե Իրանը շարունակի կրակել ամերիկյան նավերի վրա, մենք կոչնչացնենք նրանց նավթային տանկերները։ Այն ամենը, ինչ նրանք պետք է անեն, ԱՄՆ ռազմածովային ուժերի վրա չկրակելն է»,- գրել է Հեգսեթը։

Պենտագոնի ղեկավարն այն կարծիքին է, որ Իրանի տանկերային նավատորմը անպաշտպան վիճակում է։ Նրա խոսքով՝ Իրանը չունի ոչ ռազմածովային, ոչ էլ ռազմաօդային ուժեր, որոնք ի վիճակի կլինեն պաշտպանել այդ նավերը։

Հեգսեթի հայտարարությունից հետո ԱՄՆ-ին նախազգուշացնող հայտարարությամբ է հանդես եկել Իրանի զինված ուժերի կենտրոնական շտաբի ներկայացուցիչը՝ շեշտելով, որ հաջորդ հարվածներն ավելի լուրջ են լինելու, քան նախկինում էին։

ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերի կենտրոնական հրամանատարությունն ավելի վաղ հայտնել էր իրանական երեք նավթային տանկերների հարվածներ հասցնելու մասին այն բանից հետո, երբ Իրանը Հորմուզի նեղուցում հարվածներ էր հասցրել 6 նավերի։
