Նեպալում սողանքային հոսքի հետևանքով զոհերի թիվը գերազանցել է հազարը։ Այս մասին հայտնել է Նեպալի ոստիկանությունը, հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

«Ընդհանուր զոհերի թիվը 1,010 է», - նշել են իրավապահները՝ ընդգծելով, որ անհայտ է մնում 359 մարդու ինքնությունը: 581 զոհ հուղարկավորվել է:

Փրկվել է ավելի քան 4,000 մարդ։ Անհայտ կորած է համարվում 4,500 մարդ, նրանց թվում՝ 471 օտարերկրյա քաղաքացի։

Հիշեցնենք, որ տարերային աղետը տեղի է ունեցել Նեպալի հյուսիսում՝ օգոստոսի 26-ի առավոտյան։ Նախնական տվյալներով՝ ջրհեղեղի պատճառ է դարձել ձնահյուսը Չինաստանի հետ սահմանին՝ «Ռասուվագադհի» սահմանային անցակետից մոտ 20 կմ հյուսիս-արևելք: Ջրի, կեղտի և ապարների հզոր հոսքը հսկայական արագությամբ գետի հունով անցել է ավելի քան 70 կմ՝ ավերելով մոտակա բնակավայրերը և հանգեցնելով մեծ տարածքի հեղեղման:
