Իրանը չի բացի Հորմուզի նեղուցը նավագնացության համար և թույլտվություններ չի տա դրանով նավերի անցման համար այնքան ժամանակ, քանի դեռ ԱՄՆ-ը չի դադարեցրել հարվածներն Իրանի տարածքին։ Այս մասին հայտնել է Fars գործակալությունը՝ հղում անելով աղբյուրին, հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

Գործակալության խոսքով՝ քանի դեռ շարունակվում են ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից թշնամական գործողությունները, իրավիճակը Հորմուզի նեղուցում չի փոխվի և նավերի անցման համար որևէ թույլտվություն չի տրվելու։

Ամերիկա-իրանական հակամարտության հերթական սրումը սկսվել է հուլիսի 8-ին։ Վաշինգտոնի և Թեհրանի միջև հուշագրի ստորագրման պահից ի վեր ԱՄՆ ԶՈւ-ն առաջին անգամ մի քանի շարք հարվածներ է հասցրել Իրանի տարածքին՝ իբրև պատասխան Հորմուզի նեղուցում առևտրային նավի վրա հարձակման։ Նույն օրը ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտարարել էր Իրանի հետ զինադադարի դադարեցման մասին։ Ի պատասխան գործողությունների շրջանակում Թեհրանը սկսել է հարվածներ հասցնել Բահրեյնի, Հորդանանի, Կատարի, Քուվեյթի, ԱՄԷ-ի և Օմանի տարածքում գտնվող՝ Մերձավոր Արևելքի ամերիկյան օբյեկտներին։
