Բացառում եմ 2013 թվականի իրավիճակը, երբ Հայաստանը մեկ գիշերում հրաժարվեց ԵՄ հետ ասոցացման գործընթացից ու գնաց ԵԱՏՄ։ Ֆոն դեր Լայենի հետ ասուլիսի ժամանակ հայտարարել է Փաշինյանը։

«Մյուս կողմից, մենք երբեք խնդիր չենք դրել, չունենք և չենք դնի Հայաստանի և Ռուսաստանի հարաբերությունների միջև ճգնաժամ ստեղծելու։ Մենք գործում ենք մեր երկրի շահերի շրջանակներում և, բնականաբար, մեր միջազգային ոչ մի գործընկերոջ շահերը չենք արհամարհում, բայց մյուս կողմից էլ որևէ այլ գործընկերոջ շահերը չենք կարող ավելի բարձր դասել, քան ՀՀ շահերը»,- նշել է նա։
