Անցած շաբաթվա ընթացքում Եվրոպայում ուժեղ շոգի պատճառով մահացել է ավելի քան 1,300 մարդ: Այս մասին X-ի իր էջում գրել է Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության գլխավոր տնօրեն Թեդրոս Ադհանոմ Գեբրեյեսուսը։

«Հունիսի 21-ից ի վեր Եվրոպայում գրանցվել է բարձր ջերմաստիճանների հետ կապված ավելցուկային մահացության ավելի քան 1,300 դեպք։ Ջերմային սթրեսը հաճախ անվանում են «լուռ մարդասպան», իսկ Եվրոպայի բնակելի տները, աշխատավայրերը և դպրոցները նախատեսված չեն եղել նման ջերմաստիճանների համար», – գրել է նա։

ԱՀԿ-ի ղեկավարը նշել է, որ Եվրոպան այն մայրցամաքն է, որտեղ տաքացումը տեղի է ունենում Երկրագնդի վրա ամենաարագ տեմպերով. ջերմաստիճանի աճի տեմպերը կրկնակի գերազանցում են համաշխարհային միջին ցուցանիշները։
