Երկրաշարժի հետևանքով զոհերի թիվը հասել է 68-ի

Ֆիլիպինների հարավում գտնվող Մինդանաո կղզում տեղի ունեցած 7,8 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժի հետևանքով զոհերի թիվը 65-ից հասել է 68-ի, իսկ 33 մարդ համարվում է անհետ կորած։ Այս մասին հայտնել է Ֆիլիպինների Աղետների ռիսկի նվազեցման և կառավարման ազգային խորհուրդը։

Աղետի հետևանքները զգացել է շուրջ 1,4 միլիոն մարդ, որոնցից 18,5 հազարը տեղավորվել է տարհանման կենտրոններում։

Երկրաշարժը տեղի է ունեցել Մինդանաո կղզու հարավային ափերի մոտ՝ հունիսի 8-ի առավոտյան։ Տեղական իշխանությունների հաղորդմամբ՝ վնասվել է 68 հազար տուն, որոնցից մոտ 12,4 հազարը լիովին ավերվել է։ Ամենամեծ վնասը կրել են Արևմտյան Դավաո և Սարանգանի գավառները, ինչպես նաև կղզու հարավում գտնվող Խեներալ Սանտոս քաղաքը։
