ԱՄՆ-ն թույլատրել է ռուսական նավթի և նավթամթերքի մատակարարումները, եթե դրանք նավ են բարձրացվել մինչև մարտի 12-ը։ Համապատասխան գործարքներ իրականացնելու թույլտվություն տվող լիցենզիան հրապարակվել է հինգշաբթի՝ մարտի 12-ին, երկրի ֆինանսների նախարարության կայքում։ Թույլտվությունը գործում է 30 օր՝ մինչև ապրիլի 11-ը, հայտնում է Financial Times-ը։

Գերատեսչության ղեկավար Սքոթ Բեսենտի խոսքով՝ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը նման որոշում է կայացրել էներգակիրների համաշխարհային շուկաներում կայունությունն ապահովելու և ցածր գները պահպանելու համար՝ ԱՄՆ-ի ու Իսրայելի՝ Իրանի դեմ պատերազմի պատճառով։

X սոցիալական ցանցի իր էջում նախարարը նշել է, որ այս նեղ մասնագիտացված, կարճաժամկետ միջոցը էական ֆինանսական օգուտ չի բերի Ռուսաստանի կառավարությանը, որն իր էներգետիկ եկամուտների հիմնական մասը ստանում է արդյունահանման վայրում գանձվող հարկերից։ Նավթի գների աճը Բեսենտը անվանել է կարճաժամկետ և ժամանակավոր խափանում, որը երկարաժամկետ հեռանկարում հսկայական օգուտ կբերի ԱՄՆ-ին։
