ԱՄՆ նախագահի վարչակազմը պատրաստում է երկրի գրեթե բոլոր ափամերձ ջրերը բացելու ծրագիր՝ նոր ծովային նավթի հորատման համար՝ չնայած նահանգապետերի առարկություններին, հաղորդում է Bloomberg-ը։

Ծրագիրը ներառում է ԱՄՆ-ի հարավ-արևելքի ափամերձ ջրերը, որոնք Թրամփը նախկինում պլանավորել էր փակել նախընտրական քարոզարշավի ժամանակ։

Բնապահպանները քննադատել են նախաձեռնությունը՝ նշելով ափամերձ համայնքների և ծովային էկոհամակարգերի համար սպառնալիքը, և մի քանի նահանգներ արդեն իսկ դեմ են արտահայտվել ծովային նավթի նոր վարձակալության պայմանագրերին։

Սկզբնական նախագիծն ակնարկում է նավթի և գազի վարձակալության գոտիների հնարավոր զգալի ընդլայնման մասին, ներառյալ՝ մարջանային խութերի ջրերը և արկտիկական ջրերը, որոնք հատկապես խոցելի են հորատման համար։
