Հարավային Կորեայի նախագահ Լի Չժե Մյոնը եռօրյա այցով կայցելի Միացյալ Նահանգներ, իսկ երկկողմ գագաթնաժողովը նախատեսված է օգոստոսի 25-ին։ Այս մասին ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է Հարավային Կորեայի առաջնորդի գրասենյակի խոսնակ Կանգ Յու Ջունգը։ Այցելությունը նախատեսված է օգոստոսի 24-26-ը։ «

Երկու առաջնորդները կքննարկեն Կորեայի Հանրապետության և Միացյալ Նահանգների միջև ռազմական դաշինքը ապագային ուղղված համապարփակ ռազմավարական դաշինքի վերածելու առաջարկները՝ արձագանքելով համաշխարհային անվտանգության և տնտեսական միջավայրի փոփոխություններին», – ասել է մամուլի խոսնակը։ Լի Ջե-մյունգին կուղեկցի առաջին տիկինը։

Կանգ Յու Ջունգի խոսքով՝ զրույցի ընթացքում կանդրադառնա նաև «Կորեական թերակղզում խաղաղություն կառուցելու և ապամիջուկայնացման հասնելու» համար համագործակցությանը։
