Առնվազն 68 աֆրիկացի միգրանտ է զոհվել, ևս 74-ը համարվում են անհետ կորած, կիրակի օրը Եմենի հարավային ափերի մոտ միգրատներ տեղափոխող նավի խորտակման հետևանքով, հայտնում է ՄԱԿ-ի Միգրացիայի գործակալությունը:

Ըստ Եմենում Միգրացիայի միջազգային կազմակերպության (IOM) ղեկավար Աբդուսատոր Էսոևի նավը, որում եղել է 154 եթովպացի միգրանտ, խորտակվել է Ադենի ծոցում, հաղորդում է Associated Press-ը:

Նավաբեկությունից փրկվել է միայն 12 միգրանտ, իսկ մնացած ուղևորները համարվում են անհետ կորած և, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, մահացած, հավելել է Էսոևը:

Զոhերի մեծ թվի պատճառով իրականացվել է լայնածավալ որոնողափրկարարական գործողություն: Իշխանությունները հայտնել են, որ բազմաթիվ մարմիններ հայտնաբերվել են ափամերձ հատվածներում:
