Բաքվում, Սիրիայի նախագահ Ահմեդ ալ-Շարաայի գտնվելու ընթացքում, Իսրայելի և Սիրիայի ներկայացուցիչների միջև ուղիղ հանդիպում է տեղի է ունեցել։

Այս մասին հայտնել է AFP-ն՝ հղում անելով Դամասկոսի մի աղբյուրի, որը ցանկացել է անանուն մնալ։ Սիրիայի նախագահը չի մասնակցել հանդիպմանը, հավելել է աղբյուրը։

Ավելի վաղ Սիրիայի նախագահ ալ-Շարաային մոտ կանգնած սիրիական աղբյուրը հայտնել է, որ նախատեսված է երկու կամ երեք նման հանդիպում:

Նշվում է, որ Սիրիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ասադ ալ-Շաիբանին և Իսրայելում Սիրիայի կառավարության անվտանգության հարցերով դեսպան Ահմեդ ալ-Դալաթին մասնակցել են այդ հանդիպմանը:

Քննարկվող թեմաների թվում են եղել Իսրայել-Սիրիա անվտանգության համաձայնագիրը, իրանական սպառնալիքը, «Հեզբոլլահին» զենքի մատակարարումը և Լիբանանում պաղեստինյան ճամբարները: Կարող է քննարկվել նաև Դամասկոսում առանց դիվանագիտական կարգավիճակի Իսրայելի համակարգման գրասենյակ բացելու հնարավորությունը:
