Նորվեգիայի Ստավանգեր քաղաքում այսօր մեկնարկում է Norway Chess  գերհզոր շախմատային մրցաշարը:

«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` մրցաշարին մասնակցելու են 10 շախմատիստ՝  Լևոն Արոնյանը, աշխարհի չեմպիոն Մագնուս Կարլսենը, Ուեսլի Սոն, Ֆաբիանու Կարուանան, Հիկարու Նակամուրան, Վլադիմիր Կրամնիկը, Սերգեյ Կարյակինը, Մաքսիմ Վաշիե-Լագրավը,  Վիշվանաթան Անանդը և Անիշ Գիրին:

Norway Chess  մրցաշարը կմեկնարկի կայծակնային շախմատի մրցաշարով: Կայծակնային շախմատի մրցաշարի հաղթողը իրավունք կստանա ընտրելու մրցաշարում իր մեկնարկային համարը: Այնուհետև 2-րդ հորիզոնականը զբաղեցրած շախմատիստը կընտրի իր մեկնարկային համարը, և այդպես շարունակ:

10 շախմատիստից բաղկացած շրջանային մրցաշարում մեկնարկային համարը կարևոր է նրանով, որ 1-5-րդ համարների տակ հանդես եկող շախմատիստները 5 պարտիա կխաղան սպիտակ խաղաքարերով և 4 պարտիա՝ սևերով:
