ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարությունը, ՀԴԲ-ի հետ համատեղ, հետաքննում է Իրանի դեմ ամերիկյան հարվածների մասին լրատվամիջոցներին տեղեկատվության արտահոսքի շուրջ ստեղծված իրավիճակը, հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Փիթ Հեգսեթը Հաագայում ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովի ժամանակ:

«Իհարկե, մենք այս պահին ՀԴԲ-ի հետ հետաքննում ենք արտահոսքը, քանի որ այս տեղեկատվությունը նախատեսված էր ներքին նպատակների համար՝ հասցված վնասը գնահատելու համար։ Ե՛վ CNN-ը, և՛ այլ [լրատվամիջոցներ] փորձում են այն աղավաղել՝ նախագահի մասին վատ տպավորություն ստեղծելու համար, մինչդեռ [գործողությունը] մեծ հաջողություն էր, հսկայական հաջողություն», - ասել է Պենտագոնի ղեկավարը:
