Анимационный фильм «Элио», рассказывающий о мальчике, которого инопланетяне по ошибке назначают послом Земли, вышел в мировой прокат 20 июня. Эта космическая история стала одним из самых ожидаемых релизов года.

Одним из режиссеров проекта выступила Мадлен (Мэдди) Шарафьян — первая армянка, снявшая полнометражный мультфильм для студии Pixar. Ее участие стало важной вехой как для армянской Диаспоры, так и для самой студии.

В мультфильме также можно заметить камео актрисы армянского происхождения Анжелы Сарафян, что добавило проекту еще больше культурных отсылок и символизма.
