Թրամփը ևս մեկ տարով երկարաձգել է Ռուսաստանի դեմ ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Բայդենի սահմանած պատժամիջոցները։ Երկարաձգվում է նաև ռուսական ակտիվների արգելափակումը։

Խոսքը 2021 թվականի ապրիլի 15-ի գործադիր հրամանի մասին է, որը Բայդենի վարչակազմը բազմիցս ընդլայնել և երկարաձգել է։ ԱՄՆ կառավարությունն ի սկզբանե պատժամիջոցներ սահմանեց ռուսաստանցի ֆիզիկական և իրավաբանական անձանց նկատմամբ, որոնք, ըստ ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաների, ներգրավված են եղել կիբերհարձակումների, ԱՄՆ-ի և այլ ընտրություններին միջամտության, ԱՄՆ քաղաքացիներին վնասելու կամ սպանելու, ինչպես նաև պատժամիջոցներից խուսափելու ֆինանսական և այլ գործողությունների մեջ:
