ԱՄՆ նախագահի հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Սթիվ Ուիթքոֆը հայտարարել է մարտի 23-ին Սաուդյան Արաբիայի Ջիդդա քաղաքում նախատեսված ռուս-ամերիկյան բանակցությունների մասին՝ Ռուսաստանի և ԱՄՆ նախագահներ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի և Դոնալդ Թրամփի շփումների ընթացքում ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունների մանրամասների քննարկման շուրջ։ Այս մասին հայտնում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։

Մարտի 18-ին հեռախոսազրույց է տեղի ունեցել Ռուսաստանի և ԱՄՆ նախագահների միջև։ Զրույցի ընթացքում Վլադիմիր Պուտինը համաձայնել է Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության և Ուկրաինայի կողմից էներգետիկ օբյեկտների վրա հարձակումից 30 օրով փոխադարձ հրաժարվելու գաղափարին և համապատասխան հրաման տվել զինվորականներին։ Նա նաև երաշխավորել է Կուրսկի մարզում հանձնված ուկրաինացի զինվորականներին «կյանք և արժանապատիվ վերաբերմունք՝ համաձայն ռուսական օրենքների և միջազգային իրավունքի»։
