Բաքվում իրականացվող «դատավարության» ժամանակ նախագահ Բակո Սահակյանը հայտարարեց, որ և´ նախաքննության փուլում և´ հիմա պնդում է, որ արցախյան հիմնախնդիրը քրեական և դատական քննարկման առարկա չէ:

Բացվածքով` առավել պարզ ասած, նախագահն ասում է, որ հիմքում ունենալով ԽՍՀՄ սահմանադրության համապատասխան հոդվածն ու ՄԱԿ կանոնադրությամբ ամրագրված նպատակներն ու սկզբունքները, 1988 թվականից մեկնարկած արցախյան շարժումն ու ինքնորոշման իրավունքի իրացման ճանապարհով գնալն, արցախցիների օրինական իրավունքն է եղել:

Բակո Սահակյանը, չընդունելով իրեն առաջադրված մեղադրանքը, դատարանում պնդել է, որ ինքը, այդ հոդվածով անցնող մեր մյուս հայրենակիցներն, ապօրինի, քրեորեն պատժելի որևէ արարք չեն կատարել:
