Բրիտանիայի և Ֆրանսիայի կառավարությունները քննարկում են Ուկրաինա մինչև 30․000 խաղաղապահ ուղարկելու հնարավորությունը։ Այս մասին հայտնել է The Wall Street Journal թերթը՝ վկայակոչելով եվրոպական քաղաքական շրջանակների աղբյուրներին։

Ըստ նրանց, Լոնդոնը և Փարիզը զորքերի տեղակայումը կապում են հրադադարի համաձայնագրին հասնելու հետ։ Այնուհետև, Բրիտանիան և Ֆրանսիան հույս ունեն օգտագործել ամերիկյան ռազմական ներուժը՝ խաղաղապահներին սպառնալիքից պաշտպանելու համար։ Այս նպատակին կարող են ծառայել արդեն Եվրոպայում գտնվող  հակաօդային պաշտպանության համակարգերը, պարզաբանել են աղբյուրները։

Այս նախաձեռնության հաջողությունն, առաջին հերթին, կախված է եվրոպական առաջնորդների կարողությունից՝ համոզել ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփին աջակցել խաղաղապահների տեղակայման ծրագրին։

Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնը փետրվարի 24-ին կմեկնի Վաշինգտոն՝ Թրամփի հետ բանակցելու նպատակով։ Իսկ փետրվարի 27-ին ամերիկյան ղեկավարի հետ հանդիպելու համար կժամանի Բրիտանիայի վարչապետ Քիր Սթարմերը։
