Կանադայի Հալիֆաքս քաղաքի օդանավակայանը ժամանակավորապես փակվել է այն բանից հետո, երբ ժամանող ինքնաթիռը դուրս է եկել թռիչքուղուց և դրա մի մասը հրդեհվել է։ Այս մասին հայտնում է CBC հեռուստաալիքը։

Միջադեպը տեղի է ունեցել շաբաթ օրը, տեղական ժամանակով ժամը 21:30-ի սահմաններում, PAL Airlines Air Canada Express 2259 չվերթով: Սենթ Ջոնսից ժամանող ինքնաթիռը դժվարությամբ է վայրէջք կատարել։ Ուղևոր Նիկի Վալենտինի խոսքով՝ վայրէջքի շասսի անիվներից մեկը չի աշխատել։

Հայտարարության մեջ չի նշվում, թե քանի մարդ է եղել ինքնաթիռում, սակայն, ըստ լրատվամիջոցի, ինքնաթիռը կարող էր տեղավորել մոտ 80 ուղևոր։ Ինքնաթիռում գտնվող մարդկանց տարհանել են, ապա տեղափոխել անգար՝ բուժզննության համար:
