Հարավային Կորեայի հետախուզությունը հայտնել է, որ Ուկրաինայի զինված ուժերը գերի են վերցրել հյուսիսկորեացի զինծառայողի։ Այս մասին գրում է Yonhap գործակալությունը՝ հղում անելով հարավկորեական հետախուզության աղբյուրին։ Այս պահին չի նշվում, թե կոնկրետ որտեղ է գերի ընկել հյուսիսկորեացի զինվորը։

Դեկտեմբերի 26-ին ուկրաինական ԶԼՄ-ները և տելեգրամյան ալիքները տարածեցին լուսանկար, որում, իբր, պատկերված է Կուրսկի մարզում գերեվարված առաջին հյուսիսկորեացի զինվորը: Ուկրաինայի պաշտոնական մարմինները, այդ թվում՝ Ուկրաինայի զինված ուժերը, դեռ չեն հաստատել այս տեղեկությունը։
