Սիրիայի նախկին առաջնորդ Բաշար ալ–Ասադի ընտանիքի ակտիվների արժեքը կարող է հասնել 12 միլիարդ դոլարի։ Այս մասին, Lenta.ru-ի հաղորդմամբ, հրապարակվել է The Wall Street Journal-ում (WSJ):

Հրատարակության համաձայն՝ միջոցների համար միջազգային որս է սկսվել, սակայն դրանց հայտնաբերումն ու սառեցումը խնդրահարույց է լինելու։

WSJ-ի հոդվածում նշվում է, որ Սիրիայի նախկին առաջնորդն իր հանգուցյալ հոր՝ Հաֆեզ Ասադի հետ միասին օգտագործել է իրենց հարազատներին՝ արտերկրում կապիտալը թաքցնելու համար։

Սպիտակ տան նախկին պաշտոնյա Էնդրյու Թաբլերը հրապարակմանն ասել է, որ Ասադը միշտ ունեցել է պահեստային ծրագիր, որը թույլ կտա անհրաժեշտության դեպքում լքել երկիրը։

«Նրանք միշտ պլան Բ են ունեցել»,- բացատրել է նա:
