Букеровскую премию получила Саманта Харви за роман «Орбита»

Лауреатом Букеровской премии (The Booker Prize) за 2024 год стала британская писательница Саманта Харви за роман «Орбита».

Писатель и художник Эдмунд де Ваал, возглавляший жюри, объявляя имя победительницы, подчеркнул, что решение присудить премию Харви было принято единогласно.

«Орбита» — первая книга-лауреат Букеровской премии, действие которой происходит в космосе, а также самый короткий роман — в книге всего 136 страниц.

Обладатель Букеровской премии получает 50 тысяч фунтов стерлингов. Все авторы, чьи произведения вошли в шорт-лист, получают чеки на 2,5 тысячи фунтов стерлингов и право на переиздание романа-номинанта в «букеровском» оформлении.
